I learned the hard way when I had problems with another Steam game I have, I basically deleted all Steam content and reinstalled my games. While my TF2 stats remained, I went from lvl 39 to lvl 1 on COD4 ni the blink of an eye. To my knowlege the profile data is stored locally on your machine. Be careful before you remove it.
That can't be. If that were true then people wouldn't be able to log onto their accounts from another computer....unless CoD4 has some stupid setup...xwolfghost
you can't. I have the game on two machines and it reset my rank on the other one but kept it on this one.
There is a "save" directory in the folder you installed the game to. This folder contains your profile, including rank and achievements. If you want to reinstall at a later time or on another computer and still have your character, you need to save this folder.
