Is it true? I am die hard tribes fan and I'm sad because Tribes 3 did not do so well. It is unique FPS shooter since most games out there are so called 2 dimension game (Z- and X-axis) but Tribes uses the Y-axis too. There is nothing more thrilling than taking the enemy's flag and flying 100 miles/hour through mid-air chainguns heating your rear and disks flying by. I want more! :D
It would be a nice surprise if it's true. On the other hand the two sequels weren't nearly as much fun as the first Tribes game. If they stay true to the spirit of the original then I'd definitely buy Tribes 4.
I'm a pretty big tribes fan and visit a tribes forum on a regular basis, there really isn't much to substantiate this rumour. Couple of tidbits maybe include the fact that garage games is workin on Legions which is appears to be quite similar to tribes. Not sure if this has really be canned or not. They have said that tribes will never die and seemed to be quite interested in providing master server hosting when sierra was going to cut support. And lastly their have been minor rumors of them reaquiring the tribes franchise.
I don't see much chance of a tribes or even tribes like gamin coming soon. Garage games is happy making casual games, vivendi probably wouldn't sell the franchise either.
Tribes is what got me going multiplayer also, its a classic. I didnt like 2, but I thought 3/vengence was good, was much closer to the feel of the original.
Tribes 4 would be nice, but I dont see it happening...it would be nice though...
