I sort of "treat" my self to a blu-ray.

I bought my PS3 with no intention of watching blu-rays but now that they have become a bit more mainstream, I sometimes buy them.

my personal policy on blu-ray is that I only buy them, the blockbuster near my house doesn't rent them. I only get movies w. great special effect that I think need 1080p. I only get movies that I really liked in the theater.

I currectly own only 2 blu-ray movies:

LIve free of die hard

I am legend

my next blu-ray will be the dark night

so how do you view/buy/rent blu-rays?

I bought Afro Samurai Director's Cut because it was only $20, which was cheaper than on regular DVD. Other than that, I have rented Rambo, and I planned on buying Tarsem's The Fall today from Futureshop, but it was not in. I am planning on buying Blu-Ray movies when they have 2 for 1 sales, or when I see good ones for under $20.

I have about 55 Blu Ray movies now and I really enjoy them and I mostly only rent Blu Ray as the selection is getting better everyday. I'm not averse to DVD, but once you get used to HD it's tough to go back.

I watch them with my eyes on a television. I will only buy them. I hate renting as no one looks after discs at rental places and they are generally scratched to all hell. I'm 3 movies of cracking 100 blu-rays.

so how do you view/buy/rent blu-rays?

zachslayer

OK so this is basically it, you walk in the store and look at (or VIEW) the Blu-ray movies decide which one you like the look of and take it to the counter and exchange it for something called "money", but when renting the Blu-ray you will need to bring it back at later date if you don't they will send you a letter treating you like you ran their mother over on the way home.

my brother rented a dvd from blockbuster and forgot he had it and 4 months later the head office of blockbuster asked him to kindly return it lol he didn't even get banned or lose his account or pay any fees. They just really wanted him to return the movie.

Both rentals and purchase - I usually try and purchase them used. It's worked well for me so far. (Planet Earth in 1080p is GORGEOUS)

I Completely Agree< I LOve Watching Planet EArth in FULL HD also.

I dont really like to rent tho i get them for free through a friend who Manages a store but usually I almost Always Buy movies.

I have about 14 Blu-Rays, but I am very Hesitant to buy them as a Whirlwind purchase, I try to hold off a while before I buy it in hopes it'll drop or go on sale.

= D

Planet Earth is presented in 1080p on Blu-Ray in all regions. The link you are refering to is a second inferior Discovery channel release for the US market only which includes the alternate narration and featurettes. Compared to the previously released and still available 1080p, this version isn't as good.
