Yeah. I really enjoyed oblivion's music. Sometimes I'd just sit and listen to it for a while.

Both are amazing... I can't decide which is the best between the two. Fallout 3 and NV were both superb too.

I agree. Oblivion OST was brilliant. The only track that's better in Skyrim is the main theme, which pretty much sucked in Oblivion but is amazing in Skyrim.

I don't think its entirely him, GS forums have been double posting a bit today.

Well I say that, even if GS is double posting, his is Quad, it would of had to double post his double posting lol.

Pretty much this order as well. Morrowind had some pretty memorable pieces and pretty glad that they were put into Skyrim.

if Skyrim's music system wasn't so damn complex I would have tossed in the previous games' music into Skyrim's on day one

Skyrim and Morrowind soundtrack >> Oblivion's soundtrack imo

Although Oblivion still has a fantastic score, one of the few things I liked in Oblivion to be honest, Skyrim is arguably a huge step up in every category.

Hoping they're some great sound mods for Skyrim. I remember I had an atmospheric sound mod for Oblivion and it was great!

Going little off topic here;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6I2muPfUdOQ

I always thought this song would be perfect for mountain exploration in Skyrim. Fits in perfectly, especially while climbing to High Hrothgar, or even higher.

Hope it will be added via mods or custom soundtracks one day.

I preferred Morrowind's, better compositions imo. That lone cello playing while exploring a cave creates a really interesting atmosphere.

I like Skyrim's more. There's a happy tune playing in Whiterun that I can't get out of my head.

Cant you still place music files in the appropriate area in the data folder for it to play in the game? It's one of the features that I liked in Oblivion. It didnt need an esp to do it either. If you own both you can just copy the files over - assuming that feature works in Skyrim.

The game cant read mp3s, they are encrypted in xms format. likely because the OST is for sale for like $30.

maybe they spent more time on oblivions music instead of the game itself, while skyrim was the other way around

I like it like that...in skyrim the music is beautiful, but its not in your face....you know it's there, but it blends in so well you often dont realize it's there...a mark of a good soundtrack for a game like this

Though I really like Skyrim's theme song I find Oblivion's score better overall.

Just classic

Bethesda used Jeremy Soule who also composed the music for Morrowind and Oblivion. I would imagine he put as much work into Skyrim as he did Oblivion. The op speaks as if music should improve like video games do. I wish that was true, most of todays music wouldnt be the garbage that it is.

From what I've heard so far, I like Oblivion's score better. I haven't heard the entire Skyrim soundtrack yet, but I heard most of it. But honestly both pale to Mass Effect 1.
