whenever i launch a game i hear a faint high pitched noise from my motherboard. it sounds like its right around the chipset area. i just got a evga x58 le motherboard. is this normal, or should i return it? i am sure its eaither the mother board or the video card. i know its nothing else becuase all of the other components are older, besides the cpu, and ram.

Depends what you consider a hard time. You will have to call Microsoft so that you can re-activate it, as the key you have has been locked to that specific motherboard.

As for the high-pitched noise, are you sure it's coming from your motherboard? If so, then yes, you should return it. It usually means that a capacitor is not doing its job properly, aka faulty.

well i went with the asus board today. and i must say its much faster now. i think there was something really wrong with that evga mobo. the only thing that is weird about this asus, is that windows computer is telling me there is a floppy installed. must be something in the bios to fix that. and the windows installation took way longer than normal. but its very fast right now.

Just go into the BIOS and disable the 1.44 in.
