Help with source games!

something happens when i try to run CSS, HL2 DM, GMOD 10 and half life 2 when i click them to run them from steam they come up then the screen goes black and theres what appears to be some text in the middle but upside down but i can hear my mouse rollng over the main menu buttons.

 any ideas whats happening?

its your graphics card and try setting all your game specs to low

also have you ever got the games to run before?

but Srtest said i could run this for the recomended settings.

and how would i change the graphics options if i cant see the main menu or other menus?

yea but iv had HL2 and garrys mod 9 running perfect on this computer with all settings high.

this problem is really annoying me now
