Hi ..

I'm confused in choosing a processor between :

Dual Core E6700 OR Quad Core Q6600

The difference between the two is around 200$ in price .. My question is : Will the difference in performance justify the difference in price ? I'm talking pure gaming here with little of Pinnacle DVD making.

Regarding Motherboard, my requirements are :

SLI with 16x speed on both slots, place for sound card and physics card, Firewire and minimum 8 USB total.

My choice now is Asus P5N32E-SLI based on 680i chipset .. Is it the best choice or there better choices out there ?? Note that I'm not into overclocking ..

Price drop will be on 22 July and will affect mostly the Q6600 that I'm interested in .. It'll reach around 270$ instead of today's 540$

If you got the 200 to spare, might as well get the quad core.

As for motherboard, I think the 680i chipset is best.  Call me crazy but I get 7900-performance out of my 7600GT because of that motherboard.  Mine is an eVGA brand and it was inexpensive and awesome.

In my opinion the golden rule is this: core 2 duo + 680i chipset = awesome.
