Help choosing good games

I have $50 to spend on some new games, but I can't decide which ones to get. Here are the games I was looking at:

Condemned $15

Mirrors Edge- $10

Battlefield 2142- $20

Mercenaries 2- $10

Counter Strike Source- $20

F.E.A.R.- $20

Prey- $10

Timeshift- $10

Lost Planet- $10

Far Cry- $10

Medal of Honor 10th Anniversary Bundle- $20

Left 4 Dead- $30

Could you please pick out the games you would get that total up to $50ish. I want games that are going to last me a long time because I'll probably buy only one or two more games this year. I would also like to have at least one multiplayer game.

Also feel free to suggest other games that you think I might like.

Is there any user created content for Mirror's Edge?

I don't think there are any good mods for Mirror's Edge, just a few skin replacements.

Timeshift has great multiplayer, designed by a UT champion, but only a few people play it. It's better than FEAR.

The multiplayer component of FEAR is free - FEAR Combat.

Prey has a good SP and original MP, but nobody's online.

I choose 2142 because it's popular and sci-fi, and it doesn't have a lame community like CSS.

The Brothers in Arms triple pack is on special at Steam for $20. Might be worth a look.S0H0

I already have 2 of the three and I don't really like them enough to get the last.

IMO, Get L4D dead and something else, L4D has awesome co-op.fudgeblood

Yeah, my only problem with getting L4D is that L4D2 is coming out soon

Yes, Timeshift's SP is better than FEAR's. The levels are very varied, the guns are awesome, there are many enemy types, there are vehicles, the AI is just as intelligent and twice as aggressive, the time powers are better, it has simple puzzles and much better graphics.

Prey lasts about 7-8 hours, and so does Mirror's Edge. But ME has fun time trials that can add a few hours to that.

The CS community isn't friendly, they're among the most barbaric people in a MP game :lol:

You could try Quake Live, which is free and far better than any other MP game IMO, and the l33t Quake players are a lot friendlier. War Rock is a fun Battlefield clone, also free.

I guess I won't be getting CSS then. What would be you're next choice after Prey because I'm not completely sure I want it?

Far Cry. Great game, just have a lot of patience because it's very difficult. I think the Easy setting of Far Cry is the equivalent of ultra-hard in most recent games:D
