just use a DVI to VGA adapter :) Agreed. There should be no issues applying an adapter and having it work just as well as the HDMI plug. Pretty much all GPU cards come with an adapter nowadays.
Ditto, the only thing you have to worry about is trying to go from VGA to something else - that gets expensive. You can get cheap adapters going from HDMI to DVI to VGA.
