I was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent card for a 300 Watt PSU. I have a 2.6 Ghz Quad core with 4 gigs RAM I believe. I know its kind of weak. I am just looking for a temporary upgrade from my 8500. Any suggestions would be fantastic. Thank you.

It would really help if you stated how much you are looking to spend. Otherwise, we will just recommend the most powerful card on the market and tell you to buy an 800w PSU.

That setup alone looks pretty unstable to me, I would suggest getting a 500-600w PSU before you consider getting a new GPU. :)

Radeon HD 4650danishkhan

hd 4650 low power require 400 watts or more and that with a mediocre to poor 12v rail.

That must be a fairly good 300W PSU - you've got 4 sticks of RAM (I presume), Phenom X4, 1TB 7200 HDD and that 4650. Well played.

Thanks. I don't think that PSU has anymore horsepower left for expansion though :)

An average system with a HD4650 should be peaking at 150-200w.

spend some money on buying a decent PSU. Not only do you have a low power PSU, but it is almost certainly an unbranded one, so may not even reach the stated powers. A lot of budget PSU manufacturers use misleading readings so they can claim the PSU is more powerful than it really is, or is only capable of dealing with the power for few seconds, not sustained as is required for running a game. Graphics cards from 3 years ago were wanting 550w PSUs, and since you have a quad core, 4gb of ram, spending a bit of money on a decent PSU to power it all is well worth the investment
