Hey all, so I just purchased the gothic bundle for 2 bucks and was wondering which one I should play first. I saw some screens of gothic 2 and the graphics look like they might turn me off unless the game is really really good. Should I go for gothic 3 or 2 first and why ? Thanks for any help with this.

Lol, Gothic 2's graphics might turn you off? Go play Crysis.

Just start on 3. The overarching story is very loose and uninteresting but the individual games are fun.

Gothic 2 is ten times better than Gothic 3. Solid story, solid everything. Remarkable, unforgettable, absolute must-have. Gothic 3 is just a lot of superficial and tedious "go there and bring me that" sort of quests.

And Gothic 1 is way better than Gothic 2: in my case, Gothic 1 was THE most immersive game ever! Top-notch, second to none. If made by one of the major companies, with a decent promotional budget, it would have changed the standards. Yes, it's that good. Dated graphics nowadays, but who cares?

So, definitively play Gothic 2 first!

Gothic 3 has a more 'explosive' start and...possibly a better tutorial (i don't actually remember it, hm), but I don't think you could go wrong either way.

Gothic II = one of the best RPGs i've ever played, so start with that one. Gothic I i couldn't really get into and gothic III i haven't played yet.

Gothic 2 is by far the better game IMO, the graphics arent that dated and the amazing immersive gameplay makes up for it!

Haven't played in a while but gothic II still looks good in the screen shots for 8 year old game. Haven't played 3 yet since most people tend to say it riddled w/ problems.

Gothic 3 has been fixed by patches so it is very playable now. At any rate, OP, I'd go with Gothic 2 because I still think it's the better or the two games. Although, honestly, I don't think you can go wrong either way.
