I'm sure its not as hardcore as playing with a mouse and keyboard, but what is it like to connect your gaming laptop to your tv view hdmi? I only plan to play FPSs and action games with a xbox controller. I was thinking playing Hawk on max settings and amazing res would be better than on my xbox. Any performance issues?

also i cant my xbox controler for Crysis, the default settings are terrible.

If it's a modern, popular game, it usually works fine for me. If it's an older game, or sometimes a lower budget title, I frequently run into errors because I'm playing at a custom resolution. For instance, since my tv is 720p, I can't play Supreme Commander 2 at all because it says I don't meet the minimum resolution requirements, so I have to play it on a regular monitor.

If your tv already has the inputs, you should definitely try it out.

If your TV has a VGA port, go for that instead of HDMI. Most Tv's add a crap ton of "filters" to HDMI inputs trying to make the image better but actually ends up looking worse, specially from a PC.
