You got a computer that was outdated in 2005, maybe even earlier. What kind of graphics do you honestly believe it can output?

@persnol: Its not even worth upgrading that system, the GPU slot is likley to AGP/PCI

If you added about 1GB of DDR2 ram(from ebay not really sold in shops now) and ordered this Radeon 4670 HD AGP

That card is £100 and its old AGP so it would not transfer to a new rig.

Your PC isn't that Bad, its your GPU thats bad.

If you can find an AGP 6600GT (really old GPU from 2004) you can even play Farcry 1!!!!! which had incredible graphics for that time :).

If not, tell us what kind of games (genre) do you like to play and Iwill post a lot (Playing PC games since 1996 :)).

I still have a GF4 Ti-4200 and an FX-5200 that was in the same time period as that old P4-2.0Ghz. Both are way better than Intel graphics. So, graphics powerhouses for your PC are out of the question. Some games do have modest 3D acceleration such as Syberia which is a point and click adventure game.

I had A P4 with 1GB RAM and with FX5600 and later 6600GT ^^. 6600GT is still findable though e-bay for a few bucks... And its quite powerful :D em for its age (can play a lot of games till 2007, then Crysis happened :P).

I hope the TC can find at least a PCI video card. There's a PCI 9400 GT at newegg.com. It's $75. But, I'm thinking that P4-2.0Ghz will hold it back. He He.

His P4 mobo will mostly (99,99999%) don't have a PCI-E. The Best he can have is a 7800GS that isn't worth the money...

dota 2 is new but doesn't need a monster PC to play

DOTA 2 Hardware Performance Tested

neither his GPU nor his CPU is even close to run DOTA2 at 720p even...

Dota 2 Performance, Benchmarked

On the other hand 6600GT is a DX9 GPU with capable graphics of HD3000 :)

Your GPU has incredible limitation :/.

Need for Speed 3, 4, and maybe Porchse Unleashed and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2.

Also try some old Test Drive games. Like Test drive 4, 5, 6. and Maybe Test Drive Overdrive...

As for games like CS:

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear, SWAT 3: Close Quarters Battle and Kingpin: Life of Crime.

Kingpin is more like GTA Vice City :P.

@Coseniath: I'm referring to the multipurpose PCI slot, not PCI-E. Back in the old days, we enabled multimonitor by having one AGP card and another video card in a PCI slot. Sure, the card was restricted by the slower bus. But, it retained enough performance to run games.

Back in old days we had two graphic cards at PCI slot (I had an S3 virge 2MB and later added a Voodoo 2 12MB as direct 3D and glide accelarator).

But there is no such a card as a 9400GT which uses the legacy PCI slot that I nor Nvidia are aware of.

9400GT Feature Support:

OpenGL: 2.1

Bus Support: PCI-E 2.0

Supported Technologies: SLI, CUDA
