There was a thread about this, but I voted for the first option, because there are Mac games and yeah the ones it has are very cool and very popular games.

PC games? I guess were used to that now since very few games are made for Mac but before they were called Computer Games. Also when you were looking at installation instructions in the manual, they were split up between Windows and Mac, not PC and Mac. So I think it's a bit ridiculous to call them PC & Mac games. What's wrong with Computer Games or if people don't like that what about Games for Windows?

Nothing to do with Political Correctness (A Mac is a PC anyway) and everything to do with the fact mac users have asked whether they can post on this board.

Command & Conquer Tiberium Wars I think. It's a real shame though. I'd like to see more games made for Mac. :(

Option 1. Mac games exist, yes, but honestly, this forum is better off without anyone who sees "PC Games" and can't figure out for themselves that it encompasses all computer games.

lets see to clarify macs have games for them too... but pc is where the games are at... you can do with the new macs have windows on it. but then whats the point to having a mac.... because mac is not industry standard for music production or recording anymore, windows is running parallel when it comes to music....... but the only only reason i see for mac now is video, editing and whatnot, and to the people that think that movies and stuff use macs to render you are wrong.... they use super computers like blue genies for that kind of thing.... yes thats an actual computer... so if your gonna be doing much gaming i say stay with pc, if your doing music production i say go with pc, but for some reason if your gonna be doing much video editing then go with mac....

Option 1. Macs are just PCs with Mac OS X installed, especially since the Intel transition. Otherwise, I fully welcome Mac gaming discussion in this forum, despite my opinion about Macs in terms of gaming.

There are actually a decent number for threads for Mac gaming every now and then.

I don't really care, as long as they stopped spelling it 'MAC'.

Mac = Macintosh

PC = Personal computer (Windows is NOT always installed on a PC)

Mac game = A game that's playable on a Macintosh only

PC game = A game that's playable on a computer only (guess what, that includes Macintosh. PS3 and X-box is not included in this category though.....)

I personally think it's pointless to say "PC and Mac," because the Mac is a PC made by Apple and nothing more.

Agreed. But Mac has clearly determined that they don't sell PCs. (just look at their commercials) It's a rather insidious marketting strategy if you ask me. There is a lot of baggage that goes along with the PC label, I think--and they can blissfully say, whoa! so you've had problems in the past with PCs? You're in luck! We don't sell those!

Its good for P.C gaming forum coz MAC users also can discuss games here and be a part of P.C gaming , we'll 've a more larger P.C gaming fanbase :)

I honestly don't see the point in renaming the PC board to include Mac games and then totally ignore Linux aswell. That and lets face it the Mac is hardly a serious gaming platform, i know some people play games on their Macs but its not a gaming platform really. But what i want to know is why Gamespot are renaming the boards and not making announcements for Subscriber content?

Mac gamers have had the freedom to discuss their opinions in here from the beginning... What we are trying to say is that if a Mac is owned by a private person, it's a personal computer - it's a PC.

"PC Games" was fine. Also "Computer Games" doesn't really work cause technically that includes consoles as well cause basicly they are computers just without all the features.
