That was a huge surprise.. Now I just hope they release FFXII for the pc down the road.. I always wanted to play that one but never got the chance to.
I think I played this on a friend's PS2 once. Not bad.
Considering Square Enix's uneven port quality, though, I think I'll wait.
I know people dump on X a lot, but when I was a sophomore in high school, borrowing a friends PS2 and playing Vice City and FFX was like a dream.
It's insane to me that a 2002 game is 33gb on pc. Crazy
They did remaster it, did they not? Probably all the new textures and bad media (sound and/or video) compression.

I just have no idea how it can be that big. It;s like they gave a complete no to any type of compression.
I really really liked Final Fantasy X so I am really glad it got a pc remaster release hopefully I can play it with Japanese audio and English subs like I can most other JRPG released on steam!

Well FFX was original a PS2 game using a DVD (dunno if it was 4,7GB or 8,5GB).
What if I told you that FFIX which was a PSX game that was using some CDs!!! is now 20GB on steam? :P
Always buy these dam Final Fantasy games as soon as they pop up on steam but neverlay them, dono why that happens, some sort sort of caveman reaction.
I used to love FFX years ago. It was one of the best game on PS2 and it was the last from Squaresoft. When it came to SquareEnix ... somehow it just lost its soul.
U could also just play it on ps2 emulator if u still own the the game. Bump up to 1920x1080 and thats the remaster lol. But if I didn't still own it i would totally buy this. Its so beautiful in hd!

The remaster uses high quality models, higher res textures, ambient occlusion and a few other things.
It is not just a resolution bump.

Please don't bump old threads.

@Byshop: are u moderator? Is it still not ok to mention emulators when you legally own the game? I thought the use of emulators were totally legal as long as the media u are emulated is purchased and not pirated?
@vaidream45: Whoops, forgot to lock but to answer your question the specifics of what is and isn't allowed in terms of emulation discussion is laid out in the CoC. To answer your question, though, yes emulation is generally legal provided none of the software you are using with the emulator is pirated. This includes the BIOS of the console, so some emulators really can't be used legally even if you own the game because you have to pirate the BIOS to use it.
However, assuming you have an emulator that doesn't require a pirate BIOS (because it's for a console older than ps1 era or for some other reason) and you own the media that you are emulating (downloading ROMS for something you own is still a no-no) then the problem is that emulators bypass all console copy protection. We have no way of knowing if you're using the emulator legally or not because we have to take your word for it. Since there's no way for us to verify whether the discussion of the specifics of emulation is being used for legal purposes, we have to ban all the discussion even if your specific use case doesn't break the law.
However, discussion of emulation in general is allowed in terms of how it affects the industry, licensed emulation such as backwards compatibility or officially released "classic game" packs, or obsolete PC OS emulation like Dosbox.
