FEAR 3 single player worth it?

Hey dudes,

I know this is an old game, but since it's on sale on Steam I was wondering if its worth it just for the single player campaign, since I probably won't be playing online or co-op.

I've only read what happened on the first FEAR and played FEAR 2 last year.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If it's $5, yes. Otherwise, no. Shortest and worst campaign of the series.

Fear 3 is the second best of the series. The combat feels more like the first game's than Fear 2's boring and easy skirmishes. Sometimes it's even more intense than the Fear expansions, which had awesome combat scenarios and not much else. The story is nowhere near as retarded as in F2 and the visual design is lovely. Even the mech scenes are ten times better.

F.E.A.R. 1 & 2 and their expansions are really outstanding, F.E.A.R. 3 is horribly, horribly, HORRIBLY bland, idiotic and totally get's the lore F1 & 2 had set up COMPLETELY wrong.

I'd say you only should take it if someone GIVES YOU 5 $ along with it, and also only to grab 5$ for free.

The rape scene of Fear 2 was indeed outstanding!

No, I don't think the game is good.

Its not worth $5 IMO.

Unless its under $5, no its not worth it. But if its a few dollars on sale it might be worth rippin through the campaign.

I played the demo long ago and it was more than terrible. How come such a legendary game like the first fear was turned into such garble?

It feels like if you play deus ex and then play postal 2.

For $5 it's worth it.  Playing as Fettel through the campaign was actually pretty fun, but it's definitely the worst game of the trilogy.  

I actually played through it somewhat recently. I would not pay more than 5 dollars for it as there are a lot of better games available.

I loved the first game but the second was not my favorite. I just got the collection off of steam. I have to say I think fear 3 is much better than the second game but no where close the the quality of the first.

Best cover system I've seen in a FPS. It's a good responsive shooter imo but it's also been Call of Dutified and has level>cutscene>level>cutscene, and they removed health packs and put in health regen etc.

imo it goes Fear 1>Fear 2>>>Fear 3.

The FEAR series rocks!  I have them all and love the gore :D
