I hit 4,3 ghz stable with 1,34 vcore, bus speed 478 on a Gigabyte P35. never goes above 60 degrees in prime95. ram timings 5 6 6 18.

Is it possible to get this chip to to 4,5 or even maybe 4,8?

thing is I cant take vcore past 1.4 it just gets unstable maybe its the P35

I'm using a Zalman 9700 for cooling, it seems to do its job just fine.

Nice job man. Mine is at 3.4 now. I was having stability issues beyond that. It's probably the vcore that needed an increase.

I think I'll mess with it later tonight to see what I can do.

Could be something to do with your RAM voltages/speeds? I'm not sure, I don't have that much experience with OC'ing.

It hard to do more With E8400 at 4.3Ghz unless it just for Benchmarking :P Like Did Beefdog by Get is Phenom II At 4.0ghz then put it at 3.8GHZ If you get a E8600 Even tough i haven't mess with it yet for overclocking : I know i can get it at 4.3Ghz with much better voltage and to 4.5 / 4.7GHZ with extreme overclock That Because THE MT is 1X superior of the E8400 9.5X Vs 8.5X and soon 10X appear i heard by summer intel Release there so called E8700 (LAST dual core or w/e) The E8700 would be 3.5Ghz Stock : and E8600 3.3.Ghz Stock : the Reason to make E8700 is Belive is to Counter Athelon II X2 (Which would make a Phenom II like Architecutre but optimized for high Overclock & Stock Clock Dual Core gaming

You could get more if you had a P45 mobo. Even my Q9550 can do 4.3GHz at those volts. I tried overclocking my Q9550 with my old P35-DS3L and it was difficult just to get 3.6GHz. With my P45 it booted up to 3.6GHz without touching any settings but FSB.

I'm guessing if you want higher you're going to have to go to liquid. Air Cooling with that high an overclock is impressive as it is. ;)

I think its the P35 holding me back.

I just fried my X48 so im waiting to get another one.

looking at the temp and voltage it seems like I got more to go on, I think maybe I can get a 100% stable 4,6ghz on a X48.

people are taking the chip to 1.5 vcore stable so I might have a shot since I have barely reached 1,35 vcore myself.

temps looking OK too so I got a little to go one there also. this chip can do 75 degrees safe, so I think I can push it a little extra.
