Uh, okay? So it would not be good on PC because we like to save? Boy howdy, you didn't think this one through did you? Either way, played it on ps3, was a pretty mediocre experience.

I've been pushing for this game to come to PC ever since Dark Souls got ported over from the petition. Idk how the game is, but I like third person RPGs a lot, so more of them can't hurt.

It's not that I didn't think it through, it's that you simply disagree and failed to provide any reasons for doing so. Boy howdy indeed.

It's not that I didn't think it through, it's that you simply don't agree. Boy howdy indeed.

If you thought that through, then okay..... I saved quite a bit in the game on console...That's not what hurt the game, it was the everything else about it. Like I said, I would just stick with not thinking it through if I were you. I have no problem with someone seeing things differently. However, when that person's views are so "out there," I can't help but scratch my head.

I'm curious, which factors of Dark Arisen sullied your experience?

From what I hear DD has a better "Conduit Character" than other RPG's but thats it, they gotta step it up next time. Its a good thing the lore was bad, it might be a blessing in disguise.

Get a 360 or PS3, or wait for the sequal/successor. You can mark my words and quote me: Dark Arisen will not be coming to PC in at least the next couple years, if ever. Your petition falls on deaf ears for wise reasons. Even if it were ported, it wouldn't be the same game by definition of modern PC hardware; in many ways, the game would be ruined with a PC port, and the developers know this.

However, you may be able to expect a sequal or successor to appear on the PC. In that respect, your petition is certainly serving its purpose.

You are the one who created a threat to promote your review which features some pretty controversial stuff (but I think you knew that), don't do it if you cannot handle people disagreeing with it. You are basically saying this game is too good for the PC, which is a load of crap. If the developers could make such a wonderful game with these features you believe would be killed on the PC......they should be smart enough to figure out a way to get the same effect on a PC. Of course you are assuming the 2.5 minute reboot for the game was a feature and not just crappy coding, just as you assume (with the illusion of some knowledge no one else has) the developers know the game would fail on the PC.

And the day pigs fly will be the day I buy a freaking console to play a game.

I never meant to imply that was the case. I suppose it was a bite-sized review of the bigger picture and then served here with a small side of troll. I see "someone" disliked it. DA was clearly designed to work with the platform for which it was built. A successful PC port would require an entirely new load/save mechanic, interface, button layouts, game balancing, engine optimization, and so on...

Seems a lot smarter to make an entirely new game, maybe a spiritual successor or sequel, right? How's that petition by the way? Another awesome way to show your support for buying games like this is to buy this game.

None of my consoles get much use at all, I literally dusted off my PS3 to play it, and holy mother of the Ari*en am I glad I did.

Don't hold your breath for a shovelware port, nor another game quite like Dark Arisen.

"For fans of PC RPGs, you would be doing yourself a great disservice if you didn't get yourself DD:DA on your preferred console."

If anyone wants to discuss this with me further, I'm always happy to make new friends.

A better story and better FPS was really the only things I thought this game needed... If it came to PC atleast the FPS issue would be fixed.

I was under the impression that the story and voice acting was pretty awful. For an RPG that is a game killer in my book, no matter how good the gameplay is.

Are you retarded?

1) PC hardware would save faster. So that's a non-issue.

2) Dark Souls, another Japanese RPG, was ported and features a purely checkpoint based saving system and yet EVERYONE LOVED IT.

3) On a PC you would have keys for everything. An issue you had with the game, solved by a keyboard.

I highly doubt long load times would be considered a legitimate feature by any competent developer. That suggestion is bizarre.

I thought Dragon's Dogma had framerate issues too. If it was ported to the PC, that could be fixed along with the field of view. The story was pretty average.

No doubt, I feel as though a part 2 could be really something else if they worked on a better story and fixed the tech issues (this honestly is the exact same issues I have with a new 360 game called state of decay lol. Fun to play, but the FPS issues and story sure leave a godo deal to be desired).

Would turn out even better if it was on PC, imagine one of these games made for pc, with a better story, better FPS and mods? ohhh boy :P

Sorry to hear about issues with State of Decay. The publisher/developer said that State of the Decay will be ported to the PC in the near future. They are currently working on it.

Truth be told, the better the story the more people overlook some serious design flaws, I'm glad the story sucked, it allowed the gameplay to be judget fairly and tainted by the "the story was so good, I didn't even notice my character can't jump over anything higher than his knees" philosophy, plus have you noticed the best stories are usualy the linear, unchangeble ones. The quality usualy depends on how much/little agency the player has on the plot.

I disagree with your premise about checkpoints making the game better. I mean the game has manual saving everywhere, so the only consequence of saving regularly is that you might have to wait a bit to accommodate the slow-ish loading times. I personally just saved all the time, because of the unpredictable difficulty curves (exploring the map early on usually led to a lot of overpowering foes, and I couldn't be bothered exploring the same areas again and again) and the annoying quest design (turns out picking up the painfully slow person you're trying to escort in a town auto-fails the quest, and auto-saves in the dungeon). Also, PC gamers have plenty of RPGs that don't allow for saving at all (they've got a whole sub-genre of them), so I don't see why this wouldn't work on the PC.

Wish it was on PC, but I think i'll pick it up for the PS3 eventually. I imagine it would work great on the PC too.
