I know its old but im buying the battle chest and wodnering if i can still play online with it. If people do, do you think they will still be playing it for a few more years?

Also do the pc versions work with the macs online?

I think that the amount of people playing DOTA outnumbers the amount of people playing normal Warcraft 3 (skirmish style)

I own battlechest but i dont personally play it online (friends do) however i can tell you that there is still a large and active community for Warcraft 3, rejoice! :)

Tons of people play Warcraft 3, especially the expansion. It still is a regular on the xfire top 10 games played list!

I used to play it for 2 1/2 years straight, then had to quite when i lost the case with the cd-key, and then got a new computer. kinda a forced quitting but whatever. worth playing for sure.

There are always 2000-3000 games going on at any moment on Battle.net. And that's not counting the professional leagues that mostly play offline or through other clients.

Been a hardcore online WCIII player pretty much since it's been out and seeing as I'm addicted, don't think I'll be quitting any time soon :P I play on Lordaeron (US-West) and it never takes me that long to find a game but depends on the time of day. I play RT's - 2's and 3's. Having said that, pretty much every game I play now (1 in 15 exception), I'm playing with high level, experienced players who know all the lingo, know all the tactics, counters and nuances and they're very unforgiving to me when I accidentally let an arch or grunt go that could have been coiled or surrounded, or something ... so hope you're a fast learner or plan on playing solos, cos otherwise you'll be in for a while of getting abuse and blamed by your allies :P (online gaming hasn't changed at all!)

Whole Europe to be exact.Especially scenario like DOTA who still giving me a creep.... Its a pretty good game that everyone can play it (even on pentium 2). Some games never die .....
