So I'm trying to connect my laptop to my HDTV with a VGA cable. So far it's a success though the only inconvinence is that the sound still comes out of my laptop and not my HDTV. Also no there's no HDMI port on my laptop and I'm running on a Windows Vista Home Premium OS.

So my question is simple; is there any way to transfer audio through a VGA cable? If yes, how? And if no, do you have any other solution?

Thanks in advance.

I believe vga is only video. You can always get an audio out cable and put it on a stereo (or your TV if it has an audio-in) from the audio-out of your laptop
