Yes! You have to have a cpu heatsink even if you are not overclocking or the CPU will burn up. If you are not overclocking you can use the stock heatsink and you will be fine, but if you are getting an OEM cpu that does not come with a heatsink they you must buy one.

You technically don't have to have one, we have a lot of computers in my place of business that I support and they just have one huge heatsink with a funnel to the rear exhaust fan to push the hot air out. Of course these are business class computers and a lot of users are not maxing them out. So if your buying a business computer like a Dell Optiplex then you won't need one. For playing games on, you would most definately need one. xXDrPainXxNo dude, this guy needs a fan on his heatsink.

You dont NEED that,,,a cheap one will do the job fine if your not overclocking.
