I was going to get this game, and I wasn't sure if people actually play it online enough to warrant the purchase.

Sorry about the duplicate thread, but the site told me that I tried to post an invalid topic (the initial thread), so I tried again.

Wrong. Its perfectly FINE to play. There are two problems. Population: VERY VERY and i mean VERY few games. Like 5 games to choose from primetime due to server location isolation. Second: C.A. does NOT care about mp AT ALL. There is no mp champaign or anything. VERY few maps, bad balance. No good game modes. DO NOT i repeat DO NOT buy this gaem for mp. For singleplayer sure its fine. But multiplayer is just.... ugh.

They are having to spend all their time fixing the game in general. Besides, the total war series has always been primarily about singler player. Like Medieval II, Empire will eventually meet its potential. Unfortunately, its gonna be a little while longer before that happens. :(

What makes Empire Total War even worse from its predecessors in terms of multiplayer is that they split the entire playerbase into regional servers, and on top of that, there is no chat lobby with which to organize games. In addition, not very many people play it and the clan scene (unlike Rome's) is practically non-existent. No players, no sense of community, hence, no games.
