Depends... I say it is worth it, especially with the price they are asking, but it might not wow you like it did people back in the day ;) really good game tho... and cheap ;)

I bought it today and had no idea what I was doing and I still had a good time so I'd say it's worth it. Everyone else is MUCH better than me though and I'm not bad at fps's, so its a steep learning curve.

If you dont mind getting your ass handed to you (not exaggerating at all) then it is fun.

Of course its worth it. Its counter strike. and i thought everyone would have played this like by 4 years ago. a shame it takes people so long to get some games...

At this price and if you haven't played any counter-strike games before, GET IT! Most of us are sick of CS in any shape or form, but you don't seem to be at this point. So get it.

Great game, but I mostly play it for the modded servers (surfing is awsome!)

I used to play it years ago, but stopped after I realised just how unfriendly and intolerant the community is.

If you really want it, buy it now while it is on sale.

However, it just went through a massive update that is affecting most servers and making it hard to play. Don't take these problems as regular gameplay.

For the price its been given, its a steal in my eyes. The update ****** up most of the servers, so the admins of each server had to update everything, but you should still be able to find some matches. If you've played TF2, then somethings in CS:S will be similar to TF2 now.

6.80 for one of the best games in existence..... yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah I would say it is worth it.

Actually the community varies so wildly from server to server it isn't even funny. What you're supposed to do is read the server name and rules before hand to get an idea of what to expect from each server. Theres servers dedicated just to nice people with admins who ban those who are ****

Oh and yes TC you should get the game. Even if you get bored of the regular game part, theres tons of of modded servers to play on.

Examples:

Surf - has the most servers running this type of game, you serf on ramps and walls

Gun Game - You earn your weapons through rounds if you get a kill each round

Zombie - Sort of like Call of Duty World at War's but much better and up to 30-60 players

RPG - Servers you build stats that save so when you come back you have all your abilities (long jump, invisibility, high jump, freeze knife, fire grenades, infinite ammo, etc.)

It is a really fun game but doesn't stand up to most shooters today physics wise and in other aspects but for the time it was great. Also there is a huge learning curve with all the people who still play from the release.

If any game is worth it, it's counter strike.

It's a fun game. I'm horrid at it though. In general, I'm very good at shooters and usually end up in the top of the leaderboards no matter which game I play, but CS kicks my ass.

According to Gametracker, CS:S is #2 on the most players list, second only to, you guessed it, CS 1.6

Lol is this a joke topic? You are talking about one of the best shooters ever made.

If you like great online FPS games, then you should really get it. It's also optimized for the PC, so aiming is way harder than in games like Modern Warfare 2, so if you don't mind a steep learning curve, you're good.
