I'd agree as well, CoD4 for multiplayer, both are great single player games. GoW might edge forward a tad due to length. Be careful with GoW though, a lot of people had serious problems getting it to work properly on PC. I had serious problems playing it due to random crashes and problems with Windows Live. Of course, some people had no trouble at all so it's probably 50/50. Hopefully you're a lucky one if you do pick it up!
CoD 4 hands down, both SP and MP, I hated GoW, everything of it, even the graphics, the were pretty nice for a UE 3 game but it was way too dark to hold any interest.
COD 4 is more better than GOW COD 4: is designed for PC + better online* GOW : ported game + worse online* *based on how much players playing the game (( check Xfire.com))
so how log is GOW and COD4's campaign? and do people still play gears online?

sp wise theres not much in it, gears is slightly longer from what i remember but cod 4 has more variety in the sp campaign. tbh i doubt you'll want to play through either campaign for a second time, perhaps months down the line you'll give them a go at a higher difficulty level.
