I really need some help here, Ive been trying to install my Battlefield 2 game for a while now. I guess the last time I got fid of it, it left a portion of the game with it, because it says on the Add/Remove Programs menu "Battlefield 2 - 12MB". So whever I click on remove, it the uninstall wizard comes up and does nothing, then goes away.

So when I try and put the CD in, it doesn't even give me the option of installing the game, it just says "Play" like its already installed. So can somebody PLEASE help me?

Oh, and I have already tried doing a system restore, and it wont go back that far.And Ive tried the registry thing, and there is nothing there...

You need to remove the reference to the game from the registry.

Start>Run. Type "Regedit"

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWAREMicrosoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

anddelete the entry for BF2.

Then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\

and delete the BF2 entry

I'm in the same boat except I can't find any traces of bf2 anywhere on my system and when I try to load it goes through the setup and right at the end it closes with no error message. I have tried "run" "regedit.exe" and somehow It's missing. I tried searching for it but no luck. Now I'm fearing the worst because It's been suggested to do an os reinstall but this is a second hand cpu and I dont have the backup disc. I could really use some help here - I'm running out of hair to pull out!

I can't even get that far. I'm trying to uninstall the game (and the demo of it), but all I get is a message telling me to close all other programs. I close as many of them sa I can, but still keep getting the same message. It's pretty annoying because this game is taking up space on my disk.

Use Revo Uninstaller. I use it. Uninstalls most anything.
