I am afraid it is bad news, Steam is a windows only program and therefore you can only run it in windows. It may be possible for you to install windows on your Imac using something called "Boot Camp" that will be the only way you will be able to use steam on an Imac.

That is not true, I have two people on the server I play TF2 on that play TF2 on a Mac.

You just need that Bootcamp program probably

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=La4IgyqeKKs It's possible I guess, but don't be surprised if you buy a game and it doesn't work on the mac.

games can be installed on a Mac OS using a ported Wine distro from linux. TF2 is one of the most common since it actually runs faster on linux than it does on windows.

well yeah i watched that video a couple of times and i bought Left 4 Dead 2(actual disc) to see if i can play it and i havent got around yet to start installing it but im pretty sure that, after watching this and learning what you need to do to install a windows game without actually having to use windows. I honestly think it will work im just checking if its possible to buy games from steam without having to buy the actual disc.

Im not 100% sure if Left4Dead2 would work, but I have seen TF2 work on a Mac.
