Can My PC Run FFXIV?/What kind of laptop will run it?

I went and did the system requirment test at the systemrequirmentlab and passed everything besides the VIDEO CARD:

Video Card
Minimum: 512 MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600 series / ATI Radeon HD 2900 series or equivalent
You Have: Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family

Would it work and if not how would I go about installing a new Video Card into my PC and how much would one cost? OR What kind of laptop will run the game (that isn't really really expensive)...

It can be the laptop with the minimust system requirments for the game (or a little better). I'm searching on ebay/craigslist right now.

well if you passed the rest a new gpu is the operative choice.. a laptop is by FAR the more expensive option..

ts like this a new gpu COULD cost you.. say 75-120 bucks

a new laptop.. umm 750+ and thats in american btw..

basically id need you to dig up the sockets for your motherboard ideally what your power supply is like.. you would need to actually open the machine to find out. or if this is a prebuilt machine 9dell, emachine, hp, acer, toshiba, lenovo, compaq, etc.) its make and model would be of assistance in determining what your system can handle.

BUT given that you have that intel chipset id bet on like a pc-ex16 slot.

id probably start looking at ati hd 5670's or 4850's.. very nice cards for good prices :D

I'd rather get the NVIDIA GeForce 9600 series since I think it's the minium and my PC is a HP. I'm not a computer whiz so I won't take it apart or anything, maybe bring it to geeksquad so they can do it if I can get a price estimation first and screw the laptop part, I don't want one lol.

yeah okay thats fine.. odds are then id go down to like a place that ISNT bestbuy (horribly overpriced parts, and hardware installs are an arm and a leg) and grab a gt240 from nvidia or ati hd 4670 or hd 5570

before you panic thinking im not getting you what you want or somehting..

the gt240 is essentially a 9600gt with a new sticker on it.. THATS IT.. literally. (like the mcdouble at mcdonalds is a doublecheeseburger with one peice of cheese).

and the ati hd 4670 and 5570 are BOTH SIGNIFICANTLY better than the ati hd 2900pro and XT which were absolutely dreadful cards.. they are effectively the worst videocards made post 2005

To tell you the truth, I wouldn't even waste the money on that game... It was looking good until that whole experience issue, that killed the game right then and there.psych0mantra
