It ought to, the Unreal 3 engine runs on dx9 cards with ease, so unless Crysis is very poorly optimized, it should too.-Karayan-....dude you don't even know what you're talking about. Crysis is very well optimized, there are things you simply CAN NOT do on DX9, why do you think crysis is the best looking game ever, DX10 INCREASES performance.

Its really not that much better looking that the Unreal 3 engine :|.

[QUOTE="-Karayan-"]Its really not that much better looking that the Unreal 3 engine :|.Velocitas8That wasn't even his point. I know it wasn't. But if the graphical difference isn't that big, and the Unreal 3 engine runs smooth on dx9 cards, then Crysis would be poorly optimized if it didn't run on dx9 cards. Savvy? Of course you can't have the dx10 features but it still runs on dx9.

Actually DUDE, Crysis was first made with dx 9, and crytek has said that if you have an dx 9 card and can run it in full details there, then it will be very close to how it looks in dx 10, so it wont be that big of a difference. Anyway whats the big deal about this game??? its only far cry 2 gameplay, graphics aint everything.

OMG You don't even know crysis if you think it's far cry 2 then.[QUOTE="mimic-Denmark"]....dude you don't even know what you're talking about. Dude, you're the one who is wrong. Crysis is essentially a directx 9 game with some extra directx 10 effects. The difference is small. In fact, you probably won't see the difference unless you run both versions side by side. Also, directx 10 doesn't speed up performance. That's just marketing talk. It only speeds up certain operations if you have the directx 10 hardware behind it, which is pretty normal.
The latest article that I read on the Gaming Guru site states the game will be able to run in DX9 on computers up to 2 years old, so that about answers his question. As far as the difference between running it in DX9 versus DX10 are MORE THAN MINIMAL!! I upgraded my rig specifically for THIS game, and a few others like Hellgate: London, STALKER: Shadows of Chernobyl and the patches for Supreme Commander and Company of Heroes. If anyone thinks that the differences between running a game optimized for DX10 is going to look just about as good as a game running in DX9, you need to go back and play some DOS 2.1 games running on a Pentium 133.grandpap
So you're suggesting that the gap between directx 9 and directx10 is wider than the hardware gap between a 1995 and a 2007 PC? Use some common sense and get real, please.
