They're pretty much identicle in terms of gameplay. The decision really comes down to whether you like a sci-fi setting, or a modern-day setting. BF2 also has a slightly larger community.
2142 is great, the whole sci-fi thing is kool and the weapons are amazing. The enivornments are good lookin and the destruction is fun with new battle tanks.
2142 is a new experience, with both modern combat and a lil bit of Sci-Fi mixed into it. The expansion is fun as well. Multiplay is a blast and with the progression of your character, it'll keep you playing to get better. Battlefield 2 is too much like the original battlefield series (thats not to say its not good) but 2142 is something most of us haven't seen be4.
Depends on what u like Bf2 is our world, bf2142 is kinda in the future. I play both i think i prefer bf 2142 but im not sure hehe.. Bf2 is also good depends on what i want i guess i like to play choppers, the planes in 2142 stinks major, so thats one of the reason for choosing bf2
