the cheapest and best are the ones you build yourself.

I suggest doing some research into how, but do not be intimidated; it is not that difficult. Just don't force anything (especially if plastic), don't touch the shiny parts, and take your time and do your research. Don't be afraid to use old components.

What are your processor and memory specs?

That GT 740 won't do you much good, even higher end 700 series cards have a pretty bad time these days.

This + R5 1400 ($169) or R5 1500x ($189) CPU. They aren't out until next month, so I can't add them on PCPartPicker at the moment. 1500X is a bit faster out of the box and comes with a better cooler.

This is a good build.

I would go with a 240GB+ SSD instead of a 1TB HDD. An SSD will make your system very snappy and honestly I can't imagine not having one. Plus if you already have an HDD in your old computer you can use that as well. Put your OS, main applications and games on your SSD and everything else on the old HDD.

Also: Windows 10 can be had for $30. Maybe do a Google search for "Windows 10 for $30". I've bought 3 of those so far and they work great. FYI though, an OEM copy is typically bound to your motherboard, so if you build a new computer you will need to buy a new OEM copy of Windows.

Ive said this on another thread and ill say it again. Dont limit yourself to minor upgrades cause highly likely you will think about upgrading again in a year or two when demnding games are out. If money is an issue then save that money and just save more money, if youre not in a hurry. Future proofing is the way to go. Saves you money and headaches.

I found some pretty good CPUs here. https://www.gamewire.org/pc-gaming/best-cpus-for-gaming/

I'd suggest going with an i7 because as def mode said, you may want to upgrade again.

@MonsieurX: I created my account today because I just found this forum. I'm giving my own opinion and input just like everyone else. Why is that sketchy?
