i have never really gotten in to mmo but for several years i have played runescape(i know you all hate this game and those who play it)... but I really enjoy that game and I would like to play a more demanding and pretty game... i wanted to know a game that is similar with quest and skills and all of that stuff... I was lookin into star wars galaxies since I really enjoy star wars but that game came out almost 3 years ago so in order to play i would more than likely download updates for a few weeks... so are there any other games that are fun with a good and large community to play with...?

World of Warcraft or Guild Wars.

Warcraft. It's the highest overall quality by a fair margin and likely the safest introduction. Then from there, if you're not satisfied, go to DAOC (a Classic server) if you want war, likely either EQ2 or FFXI if you want more challenging and group-based leveling, and EVE if you want a massive hard-core player-run sci-fi sandbox.

I think that Civilisation 4 Beyond the Sword is the best.

Warcraft is the worst. Guild wars is boring.

Since when has it been MMO?

EVE is the best MMO, but I'm not sure if it's the best for you. EVE has really steep learning curve (2 hour tutorial). You should rather check out LOTRO, which is much more newcomer friendly. WoW is newbie friendly too, but LOTRO is overall better game than WoW.
