Just a bit confused; which graphic options are the best?

Field of View bar; Is it best to have it on max or completely low?

Anti-Aliasing; which one is best? 2x MSAA, 4x MSAA, 8CSAA, 16x MSAA or 16XQ CSAA?

And, Is Anisotropic 16X, bilinear or Trilinear?

Thanks.

Put the FOV to what you want. Higher FOV lets you see more, but if it's set too high it will make the screen appear to be fish eyed. I like 100.

16xMSAA is the best.

16x Anisotropic is the best.

For AA and Anisotropic, sometimes putting the highest setting will take a toll on your performance, but at the same time not making anything look better (also depends on monitor and resolutions etc).

I always put AA and AF no more than 4x.

AF does not hurt performance any noticeable amount, so just put it at 16.

+1.

Anisotropic Filtering nowadays cannot tax the GPU enough so everyone should use it at max setting (usually 16x).

edit: I will try to compare AA:

In terms of image quality and performance hit: FXAA and MLAA > CSAA > Q CSAA > SMAA >= MSAA > SSAA >= TXAA. (since you got Nvidia GPU dont look at MLAA)

Although it doesn't work the same on all games this is somewhat the general idea...

FOV determines how much you can see. Higher is generally better, but too high will start to look odd.

AA (Anti Aliasing) is edge smoothing. This takes a big hit on performance so you shouldn't be setting it to 8x (or 16x) unless it's an old game and your framerate is in the hundreds. I find 4x is fine at 1080p (on a 22/24 inch screen), but 2x is still a lot better than none.

AF (Anisotropic Filtering) refers to texture detail at angles/distance. On modern machines this has very little performance impact so I recommend setting to maximum (normally 16x).

It depends. I myself for instance can't tell the difference when FPS goes any higher than 45. Above that every FPS seems like the same to me. Same is with AA and Ani. About the fov well the ideal fov is 90. Here's my preferred setting and any thing higher than that doesn't look different to my eyes:

FOV 90

AA 4x msaa

Ani 8X

Talking of graphics what is the most resourced used?. I assume shadow and resolution.

AA gives a big impact on performance.

Shadows does as well, but some games handle it better than others.

Rule also is the higher the resolution, the more horsepower you need.

I think that I have never ever seen anything like Witcher's 2 Ubersampling completely destroying performance even on dual GPUs, while the game runs fine without it.
