Beginner PC builder, does this work?

Few questions -

Anything to make it better while staying in that price range?

How well can this play modern games on 1280x1024 (Unfortunately, that's the highest my monitor can go, but I can live with it).

Will I need anything else?

Looks fine to me. That RAM will run at a lower frequency with that board until it is OC'ed, but I am guessing you plan on OC'ing.jed-at-war

Your motherboard wont accept RAM speeds above 800. 1000 RAM will work with that Motherboard but it will only operate at a speed of 800 unless you OC the Motherboard.

Either downgrade your RAM to something like this

Or if you are planning on OC'in the Mobo down the line just stick with the 1000 ram.

Get a different mobo of the same price range. You could probably do it fairly easily.. Seeing as you are spending 180$ already.KOTORkicker
