http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=9097746

Few questions -

Anything to make it better while staying in that price range?

How well can this play modern games on 1280x1024 (Unfortunately, that's the highest my monitor can go, but I can live with it).

Will I need anything else?

Thanks

Looks fine to me. That RAM will run at a lower frequency with that board until it is OC'ed, but I am guessing you plan on OC'ing.

It will basically run every game out there maxed out. Except for the obvious exceptions like Crysis. Well, this one will run maxed too, just not at 60fps.

I probably won't OC (for now, at least). Any suggestions for better RAM?

Excuse my mediocrity, but what does that mean?

Your motherboard wont accept RAM speeds above 800. 1000 RAM will work with that Motherboard but it will only operate at a speed of 800 unless you OC the Motherboard.

Either downgrade your RAM to something like this

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800

Or if you are planning on OC'in the Mobo down the line just stick with the 1000 ram.

Get a different mobo of the same price range. You could probably do it fairly easily.. Seeing as you are spending 180$ already.

Is this a good mobo that will work with all the other parts? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131297

looks like a nice build man, ive got that same case its sweet, but mine had the stock rear 80mm fan changed to 120mm(used to be a freinds and he changed it) and i changed it to a green 120mm, the cpu cooler is the one im going to get when i upgrade my cpu but i was going for the 92mm version but the 120mm should fit in the case aslong as you take the side port funnel off

That setup looks great. The motherboard is one of the best P45 mobos out there. I wouldn't change a thing.
