  • OS: Windows 7 or Vista (SP1)
  • Installed: Origin
  • CPU: Quadcore @ 2.0 GHz or faster
  • RAM: 4GB or more
  • Hard Drive: 7.25 GB free disk space
  • Video: 512 MB or greater
  • DirectX 10 or 11 compatible card with latest drivers (AMD 11.5 or later, nVidia 275.33 or later)
  • Sound: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible card
  • Internet: broadband connection

So there, you have it. This can obviously go up or down as things progress..

Does that mean we will be forced to use Origin? That's a bit annoying if that is the case, though it won't stop me from getting bf3.

As far as the specs, it looks pretty good.

I thought it was common knowledge that it was only available through retail and Origin. I assume when you install a retail version, it'll force install Origin.

I guess I was thinking that you would only have to mess with Origin if you wanted the digital download version.

What is with the GPU requirement?

512MB DX10 or better?

So an 8200GS with 512MB can run this game? I doubt it.

Where are the real requirements?

they have no model numbers for requirements. Saying it it needs a quad core and a DX10 GPU is the most vague it can possibly get. These are obvious generic requirements, nothing concrete. An nvidia 8400 has DX10 support, therefore it should run BF3 right? Nope.

Yes it forces, like ANY retail game from EA, because Origin is the thing that authenticates your serial number, but who are you kidding, you'll buy it anyway.

My thoughts exactly. Flame shield aside, I don't see anything wrong with Origin unless you don't know how to read. It's nice and smooth and simple to use. Not having the Steam option doesn't change any of my feelings towards EA or DICE or Origin. Half of my games are not on Steam. It's not a big deal and it wouldn't stop me from buying a potentially awesome game.

People saying they won't buy it, because it's on Origin, are ridiculous. Even if Origin is crap, would you ignore a good game (assuming it will be good), just because it uses Origin? Some people just sound like 10 year olds, throwing a tantrum.

That isn't true at all. You can get it from Gamersgate, D2D, Impulse. Basically, any large DD service not owned by Valve.

Think about GFWL. If a DRM has enough problems with it then people will not buy the game. Personally I doubt Origin will be as horrible as GFWL but the principle remains the same.
