Did Nvidia get out a patch to fix this?  I'm far above recommended specs and I try to play with DX11 features enabled and it stutters like crazy.  Plays fine without them.  I've searched online but all the threads about this are from two years ago and I couldn't find a link to any fix.  I have a GTX 670 4 gigs and all my drivers are up to date.

Unfortunatetly patched, or not... DX11 for Batman AC is still a buggy mess. I played with DX10 and physx (medium) with my GTX 570 at 1080p. Minor framerate drops, always easily playable.  Your card should be little more powerful than mine, so you should be able to handle it even better.

Arkham City DX11 is buggy as hell. I can't believe Warner Bros didn't ask Rocksteady to fix this already. So much praise towards R.S., but not a single patch for DX11. If it was anybody else, they would get a 50-page thread on how crappy they are as a dev. :P

Not true at all :? there were plenty of people complaining and they already released a patch which made the game run better on DX11 but it wasnt as good as most expected.

The directx 11 additions aren't all that great. The game looks fantastic without em.

Lol, you should have seen the official forums. :P

Granted, people were much more upset (including me) about the lost saved games issue, but DX11 was a hot button issue for awhile.

I finished it recently and i was also wondering why it would stutter on some parts never thought about DX11 being the problem. To be honest it wasn't that bad and i still finished the game in DX11 with a bit of stutter here and there. Perhaps i just have low standards.

I don't visit those forums for a reason. :P hehe. I don't think that patch did anything because I bought the game a week after launch, and it runs the same as of 3 weeks ago. In DX11, the framerate jumps to 60fps, then back down to 30fps and crawls in the 15-20's fps. :/

Thankfully, in DX9, the game runs smooth with very little difference in graphics.

Unfortunately dx11 still causes problems. I just picked up the game and had to run in dx9 aswell. Really poorly done.

I have a GTX 580 and DX11 runs very poor indeed, lots of stuttering. Swinging round the city and fighting large gangs of mobs is really inconsistent.

You managed to overclock a 460 so high that AC was playable in DX 11? Impressive.

DX11 for AC was poorly made. Most graphics cards still have performance issues running AC in DX11 mode.

Odd, like I just said in another thread, I never encountered any problems at all with it running DX11. Maybe I was just lucky.

On two of my computers ( one with a GTX 480 and the other with 570 ) I never had any problem with DX11 either, so you arent the only one.

Yeah that patch a few weeks after it came out helped for me and some others to (maybe the newer gpu drivers to). Seemed to help with some and not others I guess. Says below that it didnt help 32bit as much as 64bit users.

"It took nearly two weeks, but on December 7th, 2011 a patch was released for Batman: Arkham City that 'fixed' DX11 performance, but only for those running 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows.  Those running 32-bit versions of the operating system will have to wait for another patch that will come at a future date."

Major Fixes in Dec. 7th Batman: Arkham City PC Patch:

  • Performance / hitching issues have been greatly improved for running in DX 11.
  • An issue with players running out of Video Memory or encountering a Rendering Thread Exceptions has been address. This was primarily affecting 32-bit Operating Systems.
  • A progression block after defeating Ras Al Ghul has been fixed. This was issue occurred primarily on lower end computer setups and described as Batman not readying his Reverse Batarang.
  • A crash that occurred when scrolling between the Character Bios and Arkham City Stories has been fixed.
  • A crash that occurred when selecting Press Start immediately when available at the Title Screen has been fixed. The issue was described as crashing/hard locking around the DLC (Downloadable Content) check.

We played the game on the patch with various card and while single GPU gaming in DX11 mode on Batman: Arkham City has greatly improved we did still find some issues. For example we had issues with NVIDIA 3D Vision and NVIDIA 3D Surround on the game title in DX11 mode.
