A quad core, GTX 560, and 4GB of RAM is "high" ........?

You can build a PC with those parts for like $500... Or even less if you buy an older quad core (Athlon II or Q)...

no you cant the best quad core based budget build possible gets you an hd 7770 or gtx 460 (sometimes a refurb 560 SE).

its got no dx9 coverage at all and the 6950 is a pretty high end card. the gtx 560 is also fairly high. you will be lucky to fit that into a 700 dollar budget build thats amd based

IonusX, you're embarrassing yourself with this sensationalism, you did the same with Brotherhood, you should know by now (or not, apparently), that Ubisoft always exaggerates the requirements.

If I didn't know any better I'd say it looks like a copy and paste of BF3's system requirements: http://bf3blog.com/battlefield-3-system-requirements/  BF3 won the GDC 2012's best technology award, AC1 and AC2 both were nominated for best technology at the GDC in previous years and there's no doubt AC3 is in the running for 2013. These games may not have the least draconian DRM nor do their publishers have the best business practices, however their developers are pushing gaming forward forcing others to either follow the trend or get left behind in the dust like a rotting corpse begging to become fertilizer for new life.

Not really.......

And that was done in 5 minutes just now... If you let me shop different sites and sales over serveral days it would be even cheaper than that by as much as $100 depending on the sales...

Not high requirements. Stuff similar to that has been the norm recently, it means that devs aren't scaling games back as far, a lot of them are just using the console equivalent as base settings and then adding stuff for higher settings.

DAMM, it's not on XP. I gotta change my OS.

I truly hope ACIII will be nicely optimized for PC. Other AC games had a bad optimization.

Yup. AnvilNext Engine. AC3 will look great, but I never had a problem with previous AC games though. They all looked good. AnvilNext features a dynamic game world, which may play an effect in AC3. We'll see.

Watch Dogs I believe will be built on an entirely new engine, I think.

OP, do you have the crappiest PC ever or do you just needlessly complain about games with recommended settings that are pretty normal?

Don't answer that actually, I don't really care, I just wanted to be snarky.

Seriously, those are quite low by 2012 standards. And why would any gamer keep using XP over 7, there's plenty of other games that require DirextX10 as well.

Those specs are not high at all. System requirments are used as a guide only. With all the different hardware, settings, drivers used. You cannot predict how the game will run.

I think is fair to say so if we pretend the guidelines is accurate or relatively close.

Why do you guys even bother looking up the requirements when they are almost always bogus.

They lie about requirements trying to get ignorant people to waste money upgrading their computers when they don't need to.

I laughed when they said the recommended RAm for AC2 was 4gb when the game only used around 750mb at most and an OS can reallocate the memory so the OS itself only needs around 300mbs.

The 6950 is around 8-9 times the power of any console.

An old 8600gt should play the game fine albeit in lower settings.

My gig - Processor core2duo E7500 2.93Ghz 8GB Ram DDR3 Graphics Card (Asus)NVIDIA GTX 560- 1gb ram Win 7 x64 I was able to play it with high settings. but lags a bit. I was thinking that i would be able to play it smoothly . Maybe i have to upgrade my processor. I signed in at GAMEDEBATE site where my gigs are rated and tells what my ratings are to play certain games. my processor was ticked with only 5 stars, while the rest are 9 & 7. But i will still enjoy Assassins creed 3, have played a few and i like it.
