right now ive choosen the amd athlon 64 fx-55 san diego 2.6Ghz socket 939 i plan on using the system for games mostly and to write a paper or something every now and then. i went with the asus a8n sli deluxe motherboard as well

No, go AM2. It's K8L compatible, so it's future proof. Socket 939 is dead.

yeah, man, the FX-55 is killer, but it would be a serial killer if you went dual core. and go AM2, 939 has died, officially *tear*

it would run all the games at high settings at 800 x 600 res. DUDE THATS LIKE HIGH DEF. Im going to save up my 500 dollars to buy that. total PWNAGE in games man. all running at 5 FPS. !!!1!! lol.. im out guys, l8er

E6600 is a way better value if you OC it you'll get performance on par/better than the FX62 for a fraction of the price but as you've already gone with a 939 mobo that doesn't matter

which is y theres a new e6300 comin with 4mb cache i think
