Click on the little gear icon on top of your Origin manager and then click on Redeem Product Code.

yeah, it should work for most games since 2007 or so - it let you do that back when EA Downloader was around. it doesn't work with, say, BF2142 from late 2006 (or at least my copy was).

You can still just add it to your list of played games, can't you?

Sorry, I'm not too familiar with Origin. Isn't there a played games list you can edit in some way?

If you're saying if he could add non-Origin games to the Origin manager then no he cannot. Sucks I know...

Yeah, that's what I meant. Steam allows you to do that which just shows how far ahead that service is compared to Origin.

It's a simple applications that downloads your games, it doesn't track time, it has no reason for you to keep it open to access the overlay which you have no reason to use, it doesn't have detailed player profiles only simple friends, it's not Steam, it's a tool that authenticates and downloads your EA developed and published games., just like ALL the digital platforms that don't use the DRM called Steam, like Impulse, GMG, Metaboli, etc.

As I read through the thread.. I already knew that Starshine was about to open a Steam vs Origin can of worms. I saw it coming like a charging bear. It was so obvious...

Yeah, and the funny thing is that I'm sure Steam never had these features when it launched either. It has around 7 years of experience backing it, while Origin is still technically in Beta.

Origin is more like EA's version of Battle.net than Steam.

Try https://activate.ea.com/activategame.do and https://activate.ea.com/applyentitlement.do too. They seem to activate some titles that the in-origin activator wouldn't. Totally stupid. :D
