Whenever my computer starts up, right after the windows logo goes away and right before I can even get to the login screen, my screen will stay black forever and all I can see is my cursor and if I wait there for a few seconds an error pops up, it reads runtime error C:\windows\system32\nvvsvc.exe

nvvsvc.exe is apparently part of my nvidia drivers (I have a gtx 260 core 216) it could either be that my drivers are corrupted or a virus used the same name.

This the first time I've ever had this problem.

Heres what I tried but still with no luck. Safe mode does not work it will do the same thing, give me a black screen and the runtime error.

I used my Windows 7 diskto explore my computer so then I went to the file and deleted it then restarted my computer, and I still have a black screen pop up before the login but this time theres no error.

Got on another computer and asked a friend with the same graphics card to send me his nvvsvc.exe file, and I put that in. The error is back and I still have a black screen.

I've also tried system restore, didnt work.

and I lost my video card driver disk.

Download driver sweeper and remove all nvidia drivers. Go to the nvidia site and download the lastest gpu dirver. This is probably and error that has been fixed in a newer version driver

ok it COULD be my video card, or it COULD be something very bad dealing with registry to where I have to reformat i need some serious tech support.

One of the last things i was doing on my computer was looking at processes and seeing what widgi toolbar was which is adaware/malaware and i looked up how to manually remove it through registry. I deleted the registry for it

HKEY_****S_ROOTCLSID{C089D5FC-CFE2-4BCD-A522-2981448227CE}
HKEY_****S_ROOTInterface{C3ABD5A3-E699-4B9F-97FF-25B121A41276 "(Default)" = "IWidgiBHO"
HKEY_****S_ROOTInterface{2DC9C611-D7C2-42A3-9312-BFF512812022} "(Default)" = "IWidgiToolbarHost"

In the mean time i will wait for my brother to wake up so i can use his laptop to burn the video card drivers onto a CD

Start Windows in "Safe Mode with Networking" and download MalwareBytes Anti-Malware. Update it and run a full scan and see if it finds anything. Reboot and see what happens.

Yea thats messed up. Thats the problem with no more VGA output on the newer motherboards. You are screwed in SAFE mode if your GPU is down.

im beggining to think it was a bad idea trying to remove widgi toolbar and deleting the registry items. a quick google search shows exactally whatitems i deleted.

http://www.spywarevoid.com/remove-widgi-toolbar-widgi-toolbar-removal-tutorial.html

I am actually going to need somebody to go into regedit and export the registry that i deleted and have it sent to me

I deleted this whole folder

HKEY_****s_ROOT CLSID {C089D5FC-CFE2-4BCD-A522-2981448227CE}

and this one HKEY_****s_ROOT Interface {C3ABD5A3-E699-4B9F-97FF-25B121A41276

and this oneHKEY_****s_ROOT Interface {2DC9C611-D7C2-42A3-9312-BFF512812022}

any of u guys have those?

the bleeped out words in these registy errors is c-l-a-s-s-e-s and also it wont let me add slashes so i put spaces. god gamepsot for being another problem.. oh and no dashes of course

I have always been able to fix windows worst errors with Ubuntu.

All you do is load Ubuntu from disc/usb drive, you don't need to install it, and then you can make any changes to windows from within Ubuntu as necessary.

It's like a hand from the dark side.

I'm an Nvidia user (GTX 580) and I'm afraid I don't have any of those subfolders in my registry, possibly because I'm running a different version of the drivers from you (270.61).

I believe Ubuntu has its own cleaning tools. I may be wrong with that.

I'm not sure if you can just install your videocard drivers from within Ubuntu.

Your best bet is to remember things you have deleted which you think were the root cause for your problem and just place them back to its default location.

If you don't have those drivers, try google searching for it.

Windows error messages at start-up will tell you what's missing. At least I think they will, or give you clues.

You can also try to fix your Windows boot-up with your Windows 7 disc.

Check out this Windows 7 Forum for all W7 releated matters.

If you just can't figure out your problems, save your important stuff from Windows using Ubuntu onto a USB stick/external hdd and give it a clean wipe. This is the last thing you ever do.

All you need is to have the right drivers in the right place. Registry will write itself when those drivers are present.

I strongly recommend you ask for further help in the Windows 7 Forums.

Some of those people are real professionals when it comes to windows and have helped me more than once.

I'm confused, you deleted the whole HKEY_CLAS-SES_ROOT folder? Windows uses this folder to run programs and it should never be deleted. I think your best bet at this point would be to move your hard drive to another computer, back up all the files you need saved to that computer, put the hard drive back in the original computer and do a clean install of Windows overwriting the old one. Then transfer the files from the backup location back to the original computer.
