you do realise that to get good graphics on a console you need a hd tv and for a decent one they are over a grand?

all you really need is to upgrade the gpu of your computer, and don't tell me you don't have one, that's just silly.

Impossible.  You cannot run all current games on highest settings with a $1000 pc without sacrificing something.

you could easly build a $1000 computer that could max out crysis but no way if your including the monitor and good keyboard and good mouse and good speakers. We dont include the cost of 3 extra controllers when buying a concole or the good speakers you will need or the HD TV so why are youincluding the cost of a monitor etc etc? and dont say some thing like "ow I can watch shows on my TV so you shouldnt include that" we can do a limitless amount of things on our PC's.

I'll do it if you can find me a HDTV plus console for 1000 dollars that has support for mouse and keyboard, internet browsing, word processing, graphic and video editing, and act as a tv tuner. I'll leave the light on.

Exactly what are you typing on now?

What am I typing? He wrote, he bought a PC for 1000$ + all those. r3351925 DID find the main sources. But those that i wrote are missing in his post.

mouse: 20$ (good one)

hdd 500GB: 150$ (or maybe he didn't buy so much good hdd)

Monitor: 22'' 290$ and more ofcourse (he can't say he can max the game, with a low resolution monitor)

cheapest and worst speakers 5$. And if he has a little bit better speakers, the price goes from 20,30$ up.

Case was an example in previous post.

and if he wants to play game on max, he needs vista due to dx10

the cheapest vista 70-80$. (vista home)

In worst case, the price will get up from 430$. And that's the cheapest way. Not need to say that he might have all those things even better

Impossible. You cannot run all current games on highest settings with a $1000 pc without sacrificing something.

Yes, you can.

It's said that Crysis was run on max settings on one 8800 GTX at 1920x1080 (or I think 30" resolutions).

That means that an 8800 GTS 320MB should have no problems running Crysis maxed at 1280x1024 or maybe even 1600x1200.

- Core 2 Duo E6600 ($230)
- 2GB of DDR2-800 RAM ($130)
- MSI P965 Platinum  ($110)
- eVGA GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB ($280)
- 250GB hard drive ($60)
- PSU ($110)
- Case, DVD and Floppy ($100)

That should be around $1000, and that's a complete box. Heck, I could cut costs even more by using an E6420, a 945P motherboard and DDR2-667 RAM.

Point of this topic?

There's no point to this topic, but here's some links to what Wesker is talking about with Crysis:

Yup.  I'd like to see ANY console game running at 2560x1600.  Seeing as most are run at 720p, which is lower res than 1280x1024, you arent making a fair comparison.  And for 1000 dollars, you can easily max out anything at 1280x1024.

Even though this is probably just a little kid crying out for someone to notice him... Ile take the challenge.

OS -- $99.98USD
Mouse -- $39.99USD
Keyboard -- $11.12USD
Case -- $65.98USD
Motherboard -- $124.99USD
RAM -- $50.98USD
CPU -- $168.00USD
Power Supply -- $77.63USD
Hard Drive -- $48.29USD
GPU -- $169.99USD
Display -- $162.48USD
CD/DVD -- $23.63USD
HeadSet -- $40.63USD
---
Total: $1092.68USD
---
Some parts can be changed for cheaper parts, like the mouse and the power supply that will bring the computer below $1000USD, even if you did buy Winda.
---
If Crytek adds Linux support then your total is: $983.71USD
If you decide to no pay for windows vista (who would do such a thing), your total is: $983.71USD
If you decide to drop by a retailer that is going out of business then you can grab some even cheaper stuff. Use different E-tailers, Newegg doesn't always have the lowest price.
By the time Crysis is released, the prices of computer hardware will have gone down. Lets not forget the 2900XT is launching around May 14th.
---
Don't get me started on the 8600GTS, this is Crytek! Crytek is superb at making games run maxed out on lower end hardware!
