85 3Dmarks06... thats right, only 85

I downloaded 3dmark06 and them when i run it I got 85 3Dmarks

I know, its nothing, but i have a Pentium4 3.00 a geforce fx5500 and 512 mb ddr1, does it means that if I get the 8600 gt or gts(I'm serious thinking about getting one of these) that is suposed to score from 4000 to 6000 3D marks06 the new PC will be like 60x more powerfull for games and get 60x more fps in most games?

you'll notice a definate improvement in your 3dmark score. im guessing you'll be somewhere around 3000-3500 after the 8600gt is added. However, your system will still be hindered by your other specs. i suggest also buying another 512mb stick of ram with the 8600gt. after that you should notice a big increase in gaming performance uncle-tank

heheh, thats about what I got with my FX5600 XT. Now its around 3000 with the 7800GS, so around 6000 seems pretty reasonable for the 8600GT. If they do release that card in AGP, I might pick one up, but I doubt it.jjjhsmith

edit: but perhaps concider getting a 7600gt agp, it will still be a massive boost. a 7600 and another 512mb of ram will push your score up significantly
