Well, every benchmark, every chart, every tech site says that a 7950 and a 7970 perform worse in Skyrim than a GTX 570/580.

Is that true? I get a around 30 FPS stable with 60+ mods and I hit the VRAM limit which is likely causing the low FPS. But, why are the benches so bad for 7950? Is it true? Am I making a bad decision?

Oh thank God! Guess it was just un-optimised!

yeah the drivers before september 2012 were unoptimized for alot of games.  Actually, the reviews from July 2012 onwards were alright, but anything before then ignore.  Don't even bother reading the first sentence of any review dated before July 2012.  The most accurate reviews are found after september.

I was gonna say, my HD 7870 runs circles around Skyrim with tons of tweaks and mods, a 7950 should work wonders.
