I had read on avs where the 60 or 65" panasonic ST50 had more lag than the 50 or 55". Dont see how this is possible if they are the same tv. If this issue is true i will probably go with the 60" UT50. Thoughts?

Bigger TVs tend to have higher input lag compared to small ones I believe. If you want this TV purely for gaming, you might want the 42" ST50 instead.. But for movies you'll DEFINITELY want it as big as possible for a theatrical experience.
Actually, checking HDTVTest.. the 42" ST50 and 50" ST50 have the same input lag @ 16ms compared to a lag free CRT

Not really. Both TVs produce the same black level measuring 0.009cd/m2 but as you said the ST50 has less reflections and around twice the brightness, making it much better for bright rooms, and also a higher contrast which might make you believe that you are seeing deeper blacks and the image will look more vivid/punchy/dynamic.

Nope, you could try googling, but I doubt the difference is huge, if there even is one.
I was looking at an ST50B in PC world today, I don't know how they did it, but they managed to make the picture look bad.

Poor calibration, not full HD source material , not using HDMI cable etc? God knows.. but how are you supposed to sell a £2000 Samsung when a £800 ST50 looks better? ;) ;)

Because they get more profit from selling a Samsung/LG/Sony LED than any plasma. I usually see Samsung LED showing off blu-rays/1080p footage while all the other screens show 720p footage/normal HD channel stuff.. Here in Dubai is absolutely awful.. 90% of the TVs in the stores are Sammy LEDs, and when you do see plasmas they're playing SD material..
I found ONE store that showed off the VT50 with Transformers 3 on blu-ray. Hi-fi stores don't have the same bias, and always use the best quality blu-ray players and films with good PQ AND sometimes they even calibrate the displaying, either using their expertise OR calibration software that they have for sale, so you can see what the display is truly capable of, in these stores you can clearly see the VT50/GT50/ST50 is on an entirely different level compared to LG/Samsung/Sony/Philips LED offerings... Too many rich arabs here buying 75" Samsung / 73" LG LEDs thinking they have the best display ever.. gaaah :'(

lol I meant why stock the ST50 at all, not why stock the overpriced LEDs :P
i was at walmart today and they had a 60 sharp led running brave(bluray) and the picture quality was far beyond my expectations they had an lg next to it running the same movie not sure if it was an lcd or not but you could see a huge difference. Just wanted to know what you thought about the sharp led. i still will end up getting the st50 but might get a sharp for the bedroom
