5850 for $140 on newegg.

Just wanted to share the info with anyone living in the US who might benefit from it.:)

I havent seen this crazy a deal in a long time, this card is faster than 6850 and just as good as a heavily overclocked GTX 460 1GB. I wish I lived in the US.:(

Imagine two of these in CF?:o A GTX 560 or 6950 would be no match at all and that without sacrificing too much single GPU performance.

And those who already have a 5850 and a PSU and mobo capable of handling another one, this really is such an awesome time to buy one more.

5850's are still good cards. They are somewhat like a 6860, not as fast as a 6870 and faster than a 6850. I don't need another one right now though. I would need a new Motherboard and PSU to handle it. But first I need to upgrade to a 1080p TV to see any benefit from another card.

Incredible deal, I'd hop on this if I were on a geforce 8 or 9 series or gtx 200 series. OR anything older than an HD 4xxx series

No these cheap ones don't. I can't overclock mine at all. Not the same brand but same quality of part. They work fine at stock though.

That's an outstanding deal for a great GPU. I would like to point out that the OC'd GTX 460 1GB that I had would spank a 5850 in most games, since it was as fast as my former 5870 in most that I've tested. Granted, that 460 was running at over 900mhz core with a hefty VRAM OC as well.

Getting a 5850 for $140 is a great buy, as it can max out most games up to about 1080p. Even better that it's a Sapphire brand.

5850 is about 10% faster stock vs stock so I really think a moderate OC on the 5850 will be enough for it to compete with a 800-850Mhz GTX 460.

Haha good point. I'll be getting a i5 2500k and will be running games at 1080p. I'm not aware of the cons of having 2 cons since this will be my first PC that I have assembled but I'm assuming that a larger PSU would be needed. The one I currently have is a Corsair TX 750W. This is the mobo that I was going to get before, I'm pretty sure it does not support CF

Your power supply is good enough for 2x6950 so just get a CF capable mobo and then pick up another 6950 later down the road when there price is low.

Thats why I do lots of research of new stuff when I am buying then afterwards for a few years I refuse to look at prices until upgrade time. I have been builting my own computers for like 13 years now and thats how I roll lol.
