How will a PS3 (1080p) work with a 1920x1200 monitor ? Will there be black lines on top and bottom or will the image be stretched ? Will it cause other problems ? thanks

Refer to your monitor's documentation. How it looks will depend on how your monitor handles image scaling.

Some monitors have multiple scaling modes, meaning you might have the option of choosing between a stretched image, or a mode that properly maintains the aspect ratio (black bars.)

I dont have the 1920 x 1200 monitor yet, I'm planning to buy a Sasmsung T240, I currently own an LG 1920 x 1080 and it has tons of problems, thats why I'm thinking of switching it. I've heard mixed comments regarding the T240 and 1080p, some say it supports 1080p, some say it doesn't / or stretches the image.

I have the T260HD and you will have a choice to have it stretched to 16:10 or with the black bars for a true 16:9

Since its not the T240HD, I don't think they put true 1080p native support into it. So it might either be streached to fill the screen *The resolutions are similar so the results aren't going to be too terrible.* or have some black bars. The T240HD is the same price as the T240 on Newegg atm, if you don't include the rebate. If you don't plan on getting the rebate then I'd get the HD model since it has native 1080p support.

I have a Benq FP241W which is a 24" and it supports 1920*1200, and my ps3 works fine on it, just set it to auto and let the ps3 do the work.

I mainly use it for my PC, but I keep my ps3 connected to it aswell, and it works fine. The black lines only appear when its loading a movie or a game, it stays like that for atleast 5 seconds, till the game/movie loads, hope u can deal with that.

I just picked up a Samsung 2693HM cheap on e-bay, it has HDMI support and so far seems like money well spent for a 1900 x 1200 - 26" widescreen.

The T240 is higher rez than full HD (1900X1200). The only difference between the T240 and T240HD is that the T240HD has a TV tuner. (and possibly different connections...?)

You will have a choice to display full 1080P 16:9 or have it stretched to 16:10

My Asus VW246 24" looks absolutely beautiful hooked up through HDMI. It plays it in full screen with no black bars. Pretty sure it is cheaper than the T240 too.

If it stretches, chances are you wont really notice the extra 20 pixels.

It's actually like an extra 38400 pixels.
