Same here, the extra RAM will help alot if you want at least 4xAA on current and future games.

I plan on getting a 1280x1024 monitor in the future, but even at that resolution,a card with at least 512 megs would be a better buy than a card with less than 512 megs because the extra VRAM will be used in future games like crysis.

what????? 128mb of video ram can run most new games well at that res. By well i mean really well. For example im really considering droping ~$700 on a 24-inch screnn by gateway with 1900x1200 resolution. I will need the most ram. you wont.

This isnt true tho, there was an article on this site about the xfx 320 mb xxx outperforming the 640mb models. But ur right on the future for AA but not resolutions. The 8800 will blow through crysis like nothing, now games like alan wake we're gonna have to worry about. Crysis was designed for a 7900 and 1900 and these cards have only 24 pixels and 256 mbs of ram. Also, the cheaper models of the dx10 8 series are coming like the 8200 will be just like the 7900 but dx10 and 24 pixels(aka 7900 basically). Then ull have the 8600 which isnt that much better with the 40 and ultra with 64 pixels. The gts has 96 and gts has 128, the 8800 will crush the new games for about a good 2-3 years.

If you have a 22" LCD,get a 640MB 8800GTS or if you can afford it,get a 8800GTX.

What if you got a 26" with 720 pixels?
