Witcher 2 on pc bug?

Just purchased the Witcher 2 on Steam, Is it broken? I'm in the beginning of the game at The Dungeons of the La Valettes. I made it into the room where i met with Mary Louisa La Valette, after the cut-scene I got killed by a guard and I keep re-spawning at such a bad location that I have no option other than getting killed by a guard. I tried choosing a different save point and I'm having more success, but it's still fairly "wonky"

I'm just wondering if this game is bugged?

sounds like it just completed an autosave right before the combat starts (pretty common, in that game). I would also just go back to an earlier save (and manually save often - e.g. after a tough fight or before entering a suspicious area)

Yeah, just pick a different save point. It sounds like it saved right before a fight, which happens sometimes.

Like everyone said just reload a different save. Games like Fallout and Skyrim are veey common with this. I keep multiple saves going.

Never encountered that, just a few bugs that stopped me completing quests in certain ways.

I manual saved quite a bit though.
