Will my PSU run it?

Hey Guys,

I'm thinking of buying another GTX560ti in the next few months and SLIing, along with a Corsair H60 cooler. I checked my PSU and I've got the Gigabyte ODIN 550W. For some reason at the time I thought it had more than 550W (don't know what the f@ck I was thinking....)

So will this even run an SLI setup? Let alone an extra piece of hardware?

Thanks,

I wouldn't risk another GPU on that

Forget the H60 cooler its a waste of money for the cooling that you get. Also no a 550w psu is not enough for 560ti SLI.

A high-quality 750W should run pretty much every card made in a SLI/Crossfire configuration (and a decent number of cards in Tri-SLI/Crossfire)

Enough for two slightly OC'ed 680 in SLI plus an OC'ed 3570K?

I do believe, the massive 900-1500W PSU's are intended for high-end multi (more than 2) SLI/Crossfire set-ups. And when I say quality 750W I'm talking the likes of the higher end Corsair, XFX, Silverstone, PC Power and Cooling, and top-end Rosewill power supply offerings. None of this Sunbeam $60 750W stuff.

You need at least 700W on the 12v rail. Get a 750-800W PSU. Actually I just noticed you want 2 560 Ti. In that case, I think 650W would be enough.

for 2 560ti at sli you are looking at a quality 650W PSu. Probably even a quality 600W Psu will do it but go for at least 650W just to be sure

Ah okay. I got the Corsair AX 750. I know it has enough ampere on the 12V rail to run them, but that is because that rail alone can give up 740'ish W. Max power out is 750W though...

Jeez thanks for all the help guys! Definitely going to invest in a new PSU, since I buy all my components from the suppliers (ie: I buy them at suppliers cost, roughly half the retail price) but I can only get Gigabyte and very recently Corsair stuff from the stockists. I can get the Corsair GS-700 for roughly $100? Is that a good deal? Thats why I originally thought of the H60 since its the only real cooler (apart from H80 and H100) I can get from my guys.

The problem with the GS 700w is that it only has two 6+2 pci-e connectors, not enough for two GTX 560ti's. If you are not overclocking the H60 will do the job just fine. Overclocking 4 ghz or higher will cause issues.

I was hoping to OC to about 4.2-4.5. How much will the coolermaster allow? My friend says H60 is fine until you hit 4.2 How about the GS800, it has 4 PCI-E connectors?

The Hyper 212+ EVO is nearly as good as the H80, and is a 3rd of the normal price. The GS 800 will do the job just fine.

Then its set, thanks everyone! :) (Its only because I can get the GS800 for about R900 ($100+-) and the TX750 is about R1350)
