Hey guys, I have a really odd problem that I do not understand. I've googled my ass off, but no one else seems to have this problem.

My PC wont boot when I connect my new 144hz monitor. It turns on, but when that black screen with a flashing cursor in the top left of the screen comes up, it wont go past it.

I've got a GTX 760, which is capable of using the monitor.
I'm thinking it might be my PSU that's too weak or something. It's 520W. But wouldn't that result in the PC not even turning on?

Other than that, I have no idea what's wrong.

When I reconnect my old monitor it works like usual..

Help!

The one I got with the monitor. I think it's a DVI cable.

@Litchie:

Is it a dual link DVI? only that supports 144Hz, as well as DP.

I do not know. I took for granted that they give people the right cable for their product. Does it usually say on the cable what kind it is?

@GTR12: Cool, thanks. I'll check when I get home from work. If I got the wrong cable I'm going to be quite angry.

I got a tip from my boss that I could try start the PC with my old monitor, lower the resolution and colors, then try with the new monitor again. He said it could be a "sync problem" which this might fix. I might try this if it turns out that I've got the right cable.

I thought you tried that already? you can plug in monitors/TV's as many times as you want while the PC is on, it wont damage anything.

That's why I haven't tried that already, I thought it wasn't good to do that while the PC was on.. But I checked what comes with the screen and it says "1x DVI-cable" and not "1x dual link dvi-cable". So I still need to check what cable I have..
