I was thinking about it. From what I've seen the gameplay looks good. And it is a pretty good price for the game. If I do I am probably going pioneer.

I must first ask two questions: 1) Is the hit registration responsive, featuring locational damage/impact animations? 2) What's the overall size of the environment is War Z set in? It seems promising, I would like to play a zombie survival game using a contemporary engine without a clunky UI.

Pay2win? You get the whole game at a reduced price and access to beta?

The game is f2p I believe also from what I know the only items you can purchuse from the shop with rl money is a couple of bats and cosmetic items.

Where did you even get that idea from?

Anyways... I've always wanted a Zombie Survival video game in a huge persistent world but I'll wait until this game releases in its final form. It looks like it has a lot of potential but from what I've seen, nothing has really grabbed me yet.

It isn't free to play. It is a one time payment of $30. That is why right now they have these deals. But yes, the things you can purchase are mostly aesthetic. You can't purchase good weapons or anything like that. So it is definitely not pay to win.

Tempted but i will probably wait for a polished product, i don't want War Z to blow it's load in alpha stage, unless they pay me to play it.

I just got a nerdgasm ... but not nerdy enough to click the "buy" button. After I see some legit feedback of whether it's good or whatever - then I'll decide. Besides, I've wasted so much money for games lately ... and there is the X-mas sale on Steam to think about as well ...

Isn't there a Thanksgiving sale coming up as well? Or am I just being wishful xD

I hope that's the case, I wouldn't past the developers to put in multiple gameplay-oriented micro-transactions, this game is ripe for that sort of thing.

Looks so bad, that latest footage of the PvP looked terrible.

You can buy a good amount of the things in the game with real money, it looks like COD or Left4Dead with a few dayz ideas slapped on. Doesnt look to have half the atmosphere that Dayz has.

I will try the game but its not looking good at all from the gameplay, looks super generic.

Competition is good for the gaming industry, stop being fanboys over cheesy zombie games.

ill wait for the final product

Yeah saw that the other day, I wouldn't buy it.

It looks much better than I thought it would but, ill pass on playing it early i really want to hear some reviews and things of that nature though if its f2p which im not sure at this point ill just try it when it actually comes out

Very tempting, kind of a risk to buy it now though.
#22 Posted by SharkheadHD (231 posts) -

I'm investing time in a lot of different things besides games these days, so I probably won't get it until there's some solid feedback about it maybe 2 weeks to a month after its release.

#23 Posted by TrooperManaic (3726 posts) -

Did anyone else notice they are ripping off Mech Warriors business strategy.

#24 Posted by Emraldo (1959 posts) -

I was going to buy it, then I say that certain buy in options give you an amount of "in-game currency". A game with an initial purchase and a real money currency? I'll pass, thanks.

Emraldo

It is just for masks, some backpacks and weak melee weapons. It won't make it unfair.

They aren't the first to do it.

Firefall and planetside 2 are also doing it. There are a few others doing it as well but I can't think of them at the moment.

I gotta agree with Mr. Kozzy here. I love zombies. I love zombie games but not all if they suck. I'm not saying War Z will be bad or good, that is still early to tell but it does look generic. Beta will be available October 30th and who knows when the final product will be out.. but for what they are offering for that kind of money to place our trust in, doesn't the game look a bit rushed? There's so much potential for War Z though, and I hope they make the most and best out of it.
#28 Posted by szafto (1361 posts) -
I must be blind, everyone says it looks bad but i think it looks awesome >.
#29 Posted by bonafidetk (3812 posts) -
. Beta testing is supposed to help the developers make a better game with the help of free feedback, not line their pockets. I got this email too and could hardly believe it. If they're nickle and diming people this early on a F2P title then I think I will skip it. God only knows how bad their cash shop will be
#30 Posted by nightcall14 (607 posts) -
I thought about it but, it is still to early for me to want to put money on it.
#31 Posted by Rattlesnake_8 (18334 posts) -
No thanks.. not impressed with the prices at all.. especially for Alpha. Usually you pay cheaper the earlier you get in.. prices are a rip off.

#33 Posted by Dream01 (79 posts) -

Well since this game is actually B2P and not F2P like I thought it was buying it now for $30 is a good deal bascially getting ingame cash for free.

Wait i'm confused now, what's the difference between War Z and Day Z?

DAyZ still looks better. WArZ pretty much has features that DayZ is going to have anyway

They are 2 different games.

apart from the fact they're 2 entirely separate games?

Ahhh i thought so, and it's a good thing two companies are going head to head trying to get our votes. Competition is only a good thing for the consumer, they will continue to make it better and different to the other. These games look great, i've got my eyes on them.
